The best part of being at the barn is the absence of visual media. Just trying to disconnect from the phone can be a challenge in itself. Even though there is peace listening to noises of the birds chirping, the dogs barking, and the horses munching on their hay, sometimes after a day of cleaning, training or a long ride, some music is nice. Music to listen while drinking a beer or sitting by the fire pit. Recently discovered is the artist, Daron Little. Check out one of his songs and let us know what you think.

Recently at a barn, some sage advice was dispensed. Sage for although it was common, it should've been obvious. In discussing how to better relate with the horse utilized for a lesson, the other rider stated, "...and as a reward, you can take it to an event it'll enjoy, such as trail riding, etc." Wow! Too often we forget horses like to get out and about too. Thinking of exploring the U.S. by horseback? Check out the link.

If you've never heard of TED, then check out the attached link and you'll be pleasantly surprised. This talk is about education, but the speaker refers to the agrarian lifestyle. As equine enthusiasts/professionals, we have what many others desire so maybe now is a good time to share your skill sets with those who aren't as fortunate to own equines. TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
